In a tragic terrorist attack on the Shah Mardan checkpost located in the Johan area of Kalat, seven personnel of the security forces were martyred, and 15 others were injured. The armed assailants launched a surprise attack, opening fire on the checkpost. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment, while the bodies of the martyrs are being transported to Quetta for further arrangements.

According to Levies officials, the terrorist attack occurred when armed militants targeted the security personnel stationed at the checkpost. The attack resulted in heavy casualties, with the security forces suffering significant losses. The injured personnel are receiving medical attention, and authorities have assured prompt action to bring those responsible to justice.

 

Political and National Condemnation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a cowardly assault on innocent citizens. He expressed deep sorrow for the loss of lives and assured that all necessary medical care would be provided to the injured. "The elements spreading chaos and unrest in Balochistan are enemies of the people and the region's development," said Prime Minister Sharif. He reaffirmed that such attacks would not deter the government's resolve to continue working for Balochistan’s prosperity and development.

 

The Prime Minister vowed that the government would remain steadfast in its fight against terrorism, declaring that the "evil intentions" of the attackers would not prevail. He emphasized the unity and strength of the Pakistani nation in the face of such atrocities.

 

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and President of IPP Abdul Aleem Khan also condemned the attack in the strongest terms. Minister Naqvi called for immediate action against the terrorists, while Khan praised the security forces for their sacrifices in defending the country. "No sacrifice will be spared to eradicate the scourge of terrorism," said Khan. He offered his condolences to the families of the martyred personnel and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
