3-Year-Old Dies After Falling Into Manhole at Kasur Marriage Hall

A tragic accident claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy, Ali Raza, after he fell into an open manhole at a marriage hall in Mustafaabad, Kasur, authorities reported on Monday.

The child had accompanied his family to attend a Walima ceremony when the incident occurred while he was playing. Rescue teams retrieved Ali Raza from the manhole and rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Following the incident, police registered a case under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the owner, manager, contractor, and staff of the marriage hall, based on a complaint filed by the Chief Officer of Municipal Corporation Mustafaabad.

DPO Kasur Isa Khan confirmed that three dedicated teams have been formed to apprehend the accused. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fatal accident.

This incident has raised concerns over safety standards at public venues, with officials urged to ensure proper preventive measures to avoid such tragedies in the future.
