POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has criticized party leaders advocating talks with the government, stating they are neither aligned with Imran Khan’s stance nor his true allies.
Speaking to the media, Aleema Khan recalled that the PTI founder had called for peaceful protests on November 22 last year, and she had only conveyed his message to the public. She alleged that police personnel were summoned to give false testimony against party leaders and stressed that justice has been undermined in Pakistan.
“The founder of PTI always emphasized the rule of law, yet any judge speaking for it is suppressed. The reality is visible to everyone in the country,” she said.
On the Toshakhana case, Aleema Khan termed it a “bogus case,” claiming the only allegation against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi involved a purported reduction in the price of a necklace, which led to a 17-year prison sentence. She added that even Maryam Nawaz’s questions on the case remain unanswered, highlighting what she described as a mockery of the law.
Aleema Khan said that despite offers to leave the country, Imran Khan has chosen to face his cases, remaining steadfast in his stance. She criticized certain ATC judges and warned that judges issuing controversial decisions will be remembered.
She further confirmed that 11 books were sent to Imran Khan, of which nine were confirmed received, and emphasized that the street movement message had been conveyed to PTI leadership in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Imran Khan represents 90 percent of the nation,” she asserted.
