Army Chief General Asim Munir paid tribute to Arshad Nadeem, the Paris Olympics gold medalist, for his historic achievement. The event, which was attended by prominent sports personalities and national athletes, highlighted Nadeem's incredible journey and the pride he has brought to Pakistan.

 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir congratulated Arshad Nadeem for winning Pakistan's first gold medal in a singles event and setting a new Olympic record. The Army Chief praised Nadeem's determination, perseverance, and excellence, noting that his success is a source of immense pride for the entire nation.

 

During his address, General Munir emphasized the importance of youth development for a prosperous society, describing Arshad Nadeem's journey from humble beginnings to Olympic greatness as truly inspirational.

 

Arshad Nadeem, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the Army Chief and acknowledged the immense potential of Pakistani youth. He thanked his family, friends, and coaches for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

 

The event was graced by the presence of several legendary sports figures, including the 1984 Olympic and National Hockey Teams, National Cricket Team, Street Football Team, Army Polo Team, Visually Impaired Cricketers, and participants of the Commonwealth Games, SAF Games, Asian Games, and Paris Olympics 2024. Notable sports legends like Jahangir Khan, Islahuddin, Shahbaz Sr., Sohail Abbas, Mohammad Asif, and Aisam-ul-Haq also attended the ceremony.

 

The gathering served as a reminder of the potential within Pakistan's youth and the importance of supporting and celebrating their achievements on the global stage.
