Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully focused on addressing both internal and external challenges, including hostile hybrid campaigns, extremist ideologies, and divisive elements aimed at undermining national stability.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks during his visit to the Gujranwala and Sialkot garrisons, where he was briefed on the formations’ operational readiness and key initiatives being undertaken to strengthen combat preparedness.
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir witnessed ongoing field training exercises and reviewed an advanced simulator training facility. He lauded the formations for maintaining high professional standards and a strong overall state of readiness.
Emphasising the evolving nature of modern warfare, the army chief stressed the importance of technological adaptability. He noted that contemporary battlefields demand agility, precision, enhanced situational awareness and swift decision-making to effectively counter emerging threats.
While interacting with officers and soldiers, the CDF praised their high morale and unwavering commitment to national security. He underscored the need for rigorous, realistic and mission-oriented training to ensure operational effectiveness in diverse security environments.
Reiterating the army’s strategic focus, Field Marshal Munir highlighted that the Pakistan Army remains vigilant against a wide spectrum of challenges, ranging from conventional external threats to non-traditional dangers such as hybrid warfare, extremism and internal destabilisation efforts.
The visit, according to ISPR, reflects the military leadership’s continued emphasis on readiness, professionalism and adaptability to safeguard Pakistan’s security and stability.
