Authorities Take Action in Golarchi: One House Closed, Tent City Planned for Displaced Families

Provincial Minister Zulfiqar Shah and District Commissioner (DC) Yasir Bhatti have announced significant measures to address the crisis in Golarchi.

Zulfiqar Shah stated that one of two problematic houses near a clogged sewer in Golarchi has been closed. The minister emphasized the government's commitment to supporting affected families, stating that a tent city will be established to accommodate hundreds of displaced individuals. “We will not leave the victims alone,” Shah assured.

The cyclone’s impact led to disrupted water flows and sewer blockages, exacerbating the flooding. Shah indicated that efforts are underway to address the remaining sewer issues, with additional closures planned to prevent further problems.

DC Yasir Bhatti added that food and essential goods are being distributed to displaced families. In addition, three government boats are actively being used for evacuation purposes. “We are working around the clock to ensure that aid reaches those in need and to facilitate their safe evacuation,” Bhatti said.

The combined efforts of local authorities aim to mitigate the effects of the flooding and provide necessary relief to affected communities in Golarchi.
