Bail Rejected for YouTuber Dukki Bhai in Gambling App Promotion Case

Pakistan’s popular YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, known as Dukki Bhai, has been denied bail in the ongoing case related to the promotion of gambling applications.

Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo announced the decision after hearing arguments on Dukki Bhai’s post-arrest bail application. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) opposed the request, arguing that the influencer had financially benefited from advertising illegal betting platforms.

Dukki Bhai was arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, following an FIR registered the same night by NCCIA Lahore. The charges against him include:

·       Section 13: Electronic Forgery

·       Section 14: Electronic Fraud

·       Section 25: Spam

·       Section 26: Spoofing

The case originated from a June 13 inquiry, based on intelligence reports that several social media influencers were promoting online gambling and betting apps. According to the FIR, Dukki Bhai promoted platforms including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365, and B9 Games, which allegedly caused members of the public to lose significant amounts of money.

Authorities claim that such promotions encouraged vulnerable individuals to invest their hard-earned income into fraudulent apps, resulting in widespread financial harm.

The case has sparked widespread discussion online, with many of Dukki Bhai’s fans expressing shock over the allegations, while legal experts emphasize that promoting illegal financial schemes is a serious cybercrime offense.

The court has adjourned further proceedings, with Dukki Bhai expected to remain in custody as investigations continue.
