POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Friday that authorities successfully foiled an attempted bank robbery in Kharan, resulting in the deaths of 14 terrorists, 12 of whom have been confirmed.
Addressing a press conference, the CM said terrorists continue to target ordinary citizens, often abducting passengers from buses to terrorize the public. He added that in previous years, highways in Balochistan used to remain closed for 7 to 10 days due to security threats, but now no highway is closed for even seven minutes, reflecting improved security measures.
Bugti emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen bank security across the province and counter extremist influence among students, warning that terrorists were attempting to mislead youth for nefarious purposes.
"Baloch are being pushed towards a futile war," the CM said, urging citizens to cooperate with law enforcement to maintain peace and stability in the province.
The chief minister’s remarks highlight a broader counter-terrorism strategy in Balochistan, focusing on protecting public infrastructure, highways, and vulnerable populations from terrorist threats.
