Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Challenges Proposed Age Limit Changes for Judges and Military Courts Legislation

In a recent meeting with provincial leaders of the People's Law Forum at Zardari House in Islamabad, Chairman of the People's Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his strong opposition to the proposed constitutional amendments concerning the age limit of judges. The proposal suggests raising the age limit for the Chief Justice to 67 years, a move that has sparked controversy.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman has voiced his disagreement with this proposed increase, advocating instead for the retention of the existing age limit of 65 years. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further criticized the circulating draft of these constitutional amendments, labeling it as non-authentic.
The People's Party has also reaffirmed its principled stance against military courts. Bhutto Zardari emphasized that if the government deems it necessary to legislate on military courts, it should convene a joint security council meeting involving both the National Assembly and the Senate.
The debate over these issues continues to evolve, with significant implications for Pakistan’s legal and political landscape. For more updates, stay tuned to our news platform.
