Bilawal Criticizes Opposition’s Disruptive Behavior in Parliament

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, criticized the opposition’s behavior in Parliament, stating that their actions prove they are not serious about addressing public issues.

Speaking in the National Assembly after President Asif Ali Zardari’s address, Bilawal hailed the speech as historic, marking the first time a Pakistani president has addressed Parliament for the eighth time.

President Zardari Highlights Economic Progress and Challenges

Bilawal emphasized that President Zardari acknowledged the government's efforts in improving the economy while also pointing out existing challenges. He said the opposition, instead of engaging in constructive debate, resorted to creating noise during the President’s speech.

"The opposition's conduct today shows they are not interested in resolving the people's problems. Their priority is political point-scoring rather than working for the public," Bilawal stated.

Opposition’s Disruptions and Government’s Response

Despite the opposition’s protests, President Zardari continued his speech without interruption, delivering key messages on economic policies and national concerns.

Bilawal also addressed a crucial issue raised by President Zardari regarding the unilateral diversion of canals from the Indus River. He stressed that the President had taken a firm stance against this controversial project and called on the government to reconsider its decision.

"The President has made it clear that he will not support this policy and has urged the government to abandon the project," Bilawal reiterated.

Political Tensions Rise in Parliament

The session highlighted the growing divide between the government and opposition, with Bilawal urging lawmakers to focus on public welfare rather than political theatrics.

As political tensions continue to rise, the government's ability to maintain stability and implement policies without resistance from the opposition remains a challenge.
