By-Election Schedule Issued for 45 Vacant Seats Across Sindh

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the schedule for by-elections on 45 vacant seats across 16 districts of Sindh.

According to a spokesperson for the Election Commissioner Sindh, the by-elections will be conducted in multiple districts, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Matiari, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, and Sanghar.

Additionally, polling will also take place in Ghotki, Khairpur, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Shikarpur.

Election Schedule

As per the announced timeline, returning officers will issue public notices on April 2. Candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers from April 6 to April 8.

The initial list of candidates will be published on April 16, while scrutiny of nomination papers will take place between April 13 and April 15.

Candidates will have the option to withdraw their nomination papers until April 30. The final list of candidates will be released on May 4, followed by the allocation of election symbols.

Polling is scheduled to be held on May 17, with voting to take place continuously from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Preparations Underway

Election authorities have begun preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the by-elections across the province. Officials emphasized transparency and adherence to electoral procedures throughout the process.

The by-elections are expected to play a key role in filling vacant seats and strengthening democratic representation at the local level.
