Case Filed Over Attack on Doctor in Jinnah Hospital ICU

A case has been registered following an attack on medical staff in the ICU of Jinnah Hospital last night. The incident, which occurred around 2:30 am, involved 12 individuals who allegedly assaulted doctors and vandalized the ICU ward.

The FIR, filed at the Saddar police station on the complaint of Dr. Shiva Ram, includes sections related to violence, disorder, and vandalism. According to the report, the attackers fled the scene after causing damage and physically assaulting the medical team.

The violence reportedly followed the death of a 17-year-old patient, Nisar Ali, who was suffering from respiratory issues. The family accused the hospital of providing inadequate care. However, hospital officials stated that the patient had been admitted in critical condition due to sepsis and infection, and despite intensive care efforts, could not survive.

To protest the incident, young doctors boycotted OPD services at the hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of all involved and strict legal action. The doctors stressed the increasing threat to healthcare workers and urged the authorities to ensure better security and safety in public hospitals.
