CM Gandapur, Afghan Envoy Vow Closer Ties for Regional Stability

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to fostering stronger ties with Afghanistan during a high-level meeting with Afghan Ambassador Ahmed Shakib. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, and the shared goal of ensuring peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, CM Gandapur emphasized the deep-rooted linguistic, ethnic, tribal, and religious connections that bind the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan. “We must jointly counter the nefarious designs of external forces and ensure a safe and stable future for the next generations,” the Chief Minister said.

In a significant gesture of goodwill, the KP government offered assistance in the agriculture sector and expressed readiness to help establish a cancer hospital in Afghanistan. CM Gandapur assured the ambassador of continued support for initiatives that promote welfare and development in the neighboring country.

He also announced plans to send a special delegation to Afghanistan, which would act as a bridge to promote mutual trust, cultural understanding, and diplomatic harmony between the two nations.

The Afghan Ambassador, Ahmed Shakib, expressed sincere gratitude to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its consistent efforts in supporting Afghan refugees and promoting regional peace. He welcomed the Chief Minister’s initiatives, particularly the proposal for a goodwill delegation and support in key sectors.

The meeting highlighted the provincial government's proactive role in regional diplomacy and humanitarian cooperation, especially at a time when cross-border understanding and development are critical for lasting peace in South and Central Asia.
