CTD Detains Four Facilitators in Jaffar Express Attack Investigation

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has taken four alleged facilitators into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express.

According to CTD sources, the investigation is being conducted in collaboration with intelligence agencies to identify the perpetrators and uncover the network behind the attack. Officials confirmed that forensic analysis of the weapons and communication devices used by the attackers is in progress.

CTD has also sent the fingerprints of the slain terrorists to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for identification. Additionally, the body parts of the deceased attackers have been dispatched to a forensic agency for further examination.

The attack took place when the Jaffar Express, traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, was intercepted by armed militants of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) near Sibi. The terrorists held passengers, including women and children, hostage before security forces launched an operation. In the ensuing confrontation, all 33 terrorists were neutralized. However, the terrorists killed 25 individuals, including four Pakistan Army soldiers, before being eliminated.

Authorities remain committed to identifying and bringing to justice all those involved in facilitating the attack. The investigation continues, with further developments expected in the coming days.
