DIG Lahore Addresses Alleged Rape Incident at Private College: No Complainant Found

DIG Operations Lahore, Faisal Kamran, has addressed the alleged rape incident involving a female student at a private college, clarifying that no formal complainant has come forward regarding the matter. Speaking on Geo News' program Geo Pakistan, he emphasized that the recent claims, which surfaced on social media on October 10, have led to confusion and misinformation among students.
Kamran noted that the college guard allegedly involved in the incident was on leave and, upon investigation, was found to have traveled to Sargodha. However, when questioned by authorities, he claimed to have no knowledge of the incident. The DIG stated, “We have thoroughly checked the records of all government hospitals in Lahore, as well as a private hospital, but have found no evidence of a victim.”
He also revealed that the police have been in contact with students and have examined video footage from the college over the past five days. This footage has been handed over to a forensic team for further analysis, which will provide a detailed report on the matter.
Kamran expressed concern over students being misled by a specific social media account, indicating that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is currently investigating the operators behind these pages. He highlighted that, during recent protests, petrol bombs were recovered from students, and several motorcycles were set on fire.
In response to the escalating situation, police forces have been deployed in various areas of Rawalpindi to maintain law and order. A police spokesperson reiterated the department's commitment to handle any illegal activities under the guise of protest with a firm approach, stating, “Vandalism or violation of law will not be tolerated. Those involved in illegal activities will face strict action.”
The spokesperson also urged students to remain peaceful and refrain from participating in unlawful actions, emphasizing that they are the future of the nation.
