ECC Approves Rs2 Billion for Media Advertisement Dues

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Friday approved a Rs2 billion grant for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to clear outstanding advertisement dues owed to media houses, according to a statement from the Finance Division.

Media Advertisement Dues Settlement

The ECC, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, considered a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) from the Ministry of Information within its Rs5.6 billion budget.
📌 Objective: Settle pending payments to media houses.

The approval comes amid legal scrutiny after the Lahore High Court (LHC) recently sought explanations from federal and Punjab governments over the lack of an official advertisement policy despite Supreme Court orders.
