Election Commission Dismisses Haripur By-Election Allegations

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed allegations regarding the Haripur by-elections, reaffirming the integrity of its processes and warning against spreading false propaganda.

The ECP clarified that the claim that Form 47 was issued from Islamabad is entirely baseless. According to official records:

  • Form 47 was prepared by the Returning Officer on November 24 at 3:16 am.
  • The District Returning Officer sent the results to the Election Commission at 3:22 am.
  • Form 47 was subsequently uploaded on the ECP website at 4:28 am.

The commission further stated that Form 47 bears the signature of the Returning Officer and was made publicly available on its official website. Forms 48 and 49 were also received by the ECP on November 26.

The ECP emphasized that the Election Tribunal is the proper forum for any objections to the election results. Action will be taken against individuals or entities attempting to spread misinformation about the Haripur by-elections.
