Field Marshal Asim Munir: 'Terrorism is India’s, We Challenge the Enemy, Not Hide'

Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, made bold statements about Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism and its commitment to unity and knowledge. The Field Marshal highlighted Pakistan’s historic defense agreements and reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to confront its adversaries head-on, particularly India.

Field Marshal Munir, referencing the deep historical ties between Pakistan and the Islamic State, said, “The State of the Holy Prophet and the State of Pakistan share a deep relationship, one that has been blessed by Allah, who has chosen Pakistan to be the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques among all Muslim countries.” He went on to emphasize the significance of Pakistan’s defense agreements, particularly with Saudi Arabia, which he described as "historic."

The military leader also spoke candidly about the ongoing challenges of terrorism, stating firmly that "terrorism is not Pakistan’s, but India’s." Munir underscored that Pakistan does not "hide" from its challenges but instead “challenges the enemy and kills them.” He stated that Pakistan’s victories, particularly in the fight for truth, were achieved with the help of Allah, highlighting the nation’s resolve and resilience.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, knowledge, and effort, the Field Marshal cautioned against division. "A nation that has abandoned knowledge and pen, chaos and corruption take their place," he warned, urging the nation to focus on hard work and knowledge rather than division. He reiterated that true honor and power are not achieved through division, but through unity and collective effort.

In his address, Munir also touched upon the role of religious scholars in shaping the nation’s direction. He said that in an Islamic state, only the state can declare jihad, and called on the scholars to play their part in keeping the nation united and fostering national expansion in the eyes of the people. “The scholars should keep the nation united and create expansion in the eyes of the nation. Long live Pakistan,” he concluded.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s remarks resonate with the ongoing focus on national security, unity, and the importance of knowledge in Pakistan's efforts to counter internal and external challenges. His call for unity and hard work, coupled with the reaffirmation of Pakistan's defense capabilities, is expected to further strengthen the resolve of the nation as it navigates a complex geopolitical landscape.
