Gandapur Asserts PTI's Autonomy, Slams Constitutional Violations in Assembly Speech

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reaffirmed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) loyalty to its founder and condemned the delay in holding general elections within the constitutionally mandated 90 days.

Addressing the KP Assembly, Gandapur declared that the authority to make key decisions within PTI rests solely with the party’s founder. “Positions and authority come from Allah, and those who misuse this trust will undoubtedly be held accountable,” he stated.

He emphasized that despite immense challenges, the public voted for PTI, showcasing their unwavering support. “However,” Gandapur said, “those responsible for violating the Constitution and delaying elections must remember they, too, will be held accountable.”

Reiterating PTI’s stance on party leadership, Gandapur said, “The right to make decisions for us lies only with our founder. If someone expects us to hand over everything to just anyone — that won’t happen.”

His remarks reflect ongoing tensions between PTI and the establishment, with Gandapur strongly signaling the party’s resistance to external interference in its internal affairs. The statement also comes amidst continuing legal and political debates over constitutional adherence, particularly regarding election timelines.
