The Palestinian resistance organization Hamas has confirmed the martyrdom of Abu Ubaydah, the spokesperson of its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, along with several senior commanders, in Israeli attacks.
In a video statement released today, the new spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed the deaths of Abu Ubaydah, whose real name was Hudhaifa Al-Kahloot, as well as Al-Qassam leaders Muhammad Al-Sinwar, Raed Saad, Muhammad Shabana, and Hakam Al-Issa.
Abu Ubaydah served as the head of Al-Qassam’s media wing, Al-Alam Al-Askari, and had been the spokesperson for the Brigades for more than 20 years, overseeing the modernization of its media operations. According to the statement, he had held the title of Abu Ubaydah, which has now been succeeded by the new spokesman.
The announcement comes after Israel had previously claimed to have targeted Abu Ubaydah in August of this year. Hamas has reaffirmed the continued leadership of its military wing despite the losses.
The martyrdom of top Al-Qassam commanders marks a significant development in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, as tensions and military operations in Gaza persist.
