IHC Seeks Legal Assistance on Imran Khan Parole Plea

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a written order regarding the parole application for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, seeking his release on security grounds.

The order was issued by Acting Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar following the May 14 hearing on the matter.

Key Developments:

·       The court sought additional legal assistance from the lawyers representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who had filed the parole application.

·       The written order stated that new facts have emerged during the proceedings, and legal counsel is needed to address them.

·       The court postponed proceedings indefinitely, pending further clarification.

·       The Registrar’s Office had earlier raised objections to the maintainability of the petition, and those objections have not yet been removed.

The parole application was filed to ensure security arrangements for Imran Khan, who is currently detained at Adiala Jail.

While the legal process remains ongoing, the case highlights the growing political and legal complexities surrounding the PTI founder’s detention.
