Iman Mazari’s Husband Hadi Ali Chatta Arrested in Controversial Tweet Case

Advocate Hadi Ali Chatta, husband of human rights lawyer Iman Mazari, was arrested on Wednesday following a court order in the controversial tweet case being heard in the federal capital.

During the hearing at the Islamabad court, the judge issued arrest warrants for Hadi Ali Chatta and directed that he be presented before the court tomorrow.

According to court proceedings, the case pertains to alleged controversial remarks made on social media by Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatta, both of whom were indicted on September 30 in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka.

However, during the indictment, both accused were absent from the court, leading to strict judicial directions to ensure their appearance in subsequent hearings.

Following today’s order, Hadi Chatta was arrested immediately after leaving the courtroom, while the judge adjourned the hearing until tomorrow for further proceedings.

The case continues to draw public attention due to its connection with prominent human rights advocate Iman Mazari, who has frequently criticized state institutions over issues of civil liberties and justice.
