POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Rawalpindi: In a candid admission, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan acknowledged on Thursday that the current government had taken control of Pakistan's struggling economy, which was on the verge of collapse.
During his appearance at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan responded to questions from journalists regarding the state of the economy. When asked if he was conceding that the government had successfully stabilized the economy, Khan confirmed that they had indeed taken charge of the “bankrupt economy.”
However, the former prime minister clarified that while the economy was saved from complete collapse, it had yet to see any significant development. His remarks reflect ongoing concerns over the country’s economic situation despite efforts to stabilize it.
PTI Negotiators Meet Imran Khan
On the same day, several prominent members of PTI’s negotiation committee arrived at Adiala Jail to meet with Imran Khan. The delegation included Ali Amin Gandapur, Asad Qaiser, Omar Ayub, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Raja Nasir Abbas. Their visit indicates ongoing talks within the party as they navigate the political challenges surrounding Imran Khan’s detention and the future of PTI.
As the political and economic situation in Pakistan continues to unfold, Imran Khan’s statements highlight the deep divisions and complexities facing the country, with no clear solution in sight for the troubled economy.
