Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi File Appeal Against Toshakhana II Verdict in IHC

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, along with his wife Bushra Bibi, has filed appeals against the verdict in the Toshakhana II case in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The appeals were submitted through their lawyer Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry. The Islamabad High Court has assigned diary number 24560 to Imran Khan’s appeal, while Bushra Bibi’s appeal has been given diary number 24561.

In the appeals, the former premier and his wife argued that the lower court relied heavily on statements of dismissed witnesses, including Inamullah Shah and a promissory witness, which, they contended, should not have been considered. They also stated that the prosecution failed to prove the case against them and requested that the court annul the verdict.

The appeals further argued that multiple punishments for the same alleged offense are not permissible and that the Special Central Court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case. Regarding the Bulgarian set of Toshakhana gifts, the appeals claimed that it was retained by the former ruling couple in accordance with the rules.

The petitions also noted that the case had been registered without a proper investigation and requested the Islamabad High Court to schedule hearings on the matter at the earliest.

This development marks the latest step in the legal battle surrounding the Toshakhana II case, which has drawn significant public attention due to the involvement of high-profile political figures.
