India Dismisses Reports of Cricket Talks Between FM Dar and Jaishankar at SCO Summit

India's foreign ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal has dismissed reports suggesting that Indian Minister for External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed resuming bilateral cricket ties during the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

Media speculations began after a brief exchange of words between the two ministers over lunch, but Dar has not confirmed any such discussions. The Indian spokesman clarified in a weekly briefing that the reports were "not accurate."

Bilateral cricket matches between the two nations have been on hold since 2008 due to political tensions.

While Pakistan is set to host the Champions Trophy in 2025, India's participation remains subject to its government's approval.
