Iran Accuses US of Plotting Military Intervention, Criticizes Germany at UN

Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Ervani, has accused the United States of seeking a pretext for military intervention in Iran, blaming Washington and Israel for endangering Iranian sovereignty and causing civilian deaths.

In a letter to the UN Security Council, Ervani claimed that US President Donald Trump is inciting political instability and violence, alleging that the aim of US policy is regime change. He condemned the use of sanctions, threats, and engineered chaos as pretexts for intervention, asserting that the plan “will fail again.”

Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi criticized Germany, saying Berlin was the “worst place for a human rights lecture.” Araqchi accused the German government of remaining silent on the alleged kidnapping of Venezuela’s president and the deaths of 70,000 people in Gaza, stating Germany “should be ashamed” for its silence.

Iran’s statements come amid growing international scrutiny over Tehran’s crackdown on nationwide protests and escalating tensions with the US. The country continues to face sanctions, diplomatic pressure, and threats of military action as global powers weigh responses to the unrest and human rights concerns.
