Iran Air Launches Mashhad-Lahore Flights as CAA Allows Serene Air Limited Operations

Iran Air has announced the commencement of flight operations between Mashhad and Lahore, marking the restoration of direct air links between the two cities.

According to official details, the weekly flight will begin regular operations from October 29, offering travelers a direct route between Pakistan and Iran’s major pilgrimage destination, Mashhad.

The launch is expected to strengthen bilateral ties, promote religious tourism, and enhance trade and cultural exchanges between the two neighboring countries.

CAA Grants Conditional Approval to Serene Air

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan has granted conditional flight operation permission to Serene Air for a period of two weeks.

According to a CAA spokesperson, the airline has been allowed only to repatriate passengers stranded in Jeddah following the suspension of its operations.

“Serene Air will also be permitted to bring back aircraft stranded in Jeddah,” the spokesperson said, clarifying that the airline will not be allowed to operate outbound flights from Pakistan during this period.

The CAA had earlier suspended Serene Air’s air operator certificate for violating regulatory laws, grounding its international and domestic operations. The temporary approval aims to facilitate the safe return of passengers affected by the disruption.
