Iran Seeks “Fair and Comprehensive” Agreement with US Amid Ongoing Talks

Iran has expressed its willingness to reach a “fair and comprehensive agreement” with the United States as diplomatic efforts continue to resolve the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized that Tehran is committed to protecting its national interests during negotiations, stating that Iran will only accept a deal that is balanced and comprehensive.

The remarks came following high-level discussions in Beijing, where Iran also engaged with Chinese officials, highlighting the growing international push for a diplomatic resolution.

Meanwhile, US leadership has indicated that progress is being made, with reports suggesting both sides are exploring a broader agreement that could include easing sanctions, addressing nuclear concerns, and restoring safe navigation through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

The conflict, which began earlier this year, has significantly disrupted global oil supplies and heightened geopolitical tensions. The Strait of Hormuz—through which a major portion of the world’s oil passes—remains a central issue in negotiations, with both sides seeking guarantees for security and stability.

Despite cautious optimism, officials on both sides have stressed that any agreement must be durable and mutually beneficial, signaling that negotiations may still face significant challenges ahead.
