POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Iran has formally submitted its response to the 15-point ceasefire proposals from the United States, delivered through Pakistan, and is now awaiting a reply from Washington, Iranian officials confirmed to a British news agency.
The Iranian official described the US proposals as “unilateral and unfair,” serving only the interests of Israel and the US. He said that after reviewing the proposals, Iran communicated to Pakistan that the proposals lacked the necessary requirements for a fair and balanced ceasefire agreement.
The official emphasized that if the US demonstrates realism, a constructive path forward could be found, adding that the diplomatic process has not stopped. He noted that the formal response was sent before threats made by former US President Donald Trump.
Pakistan has been acting as a channel between the US and Iran, relaying messages and facilitating indirect discussions in efforts to mediate an end to hostilities in the region.
