Karachi experienced scorching temperatures today, with the mercury soaring to 40.5 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a heat intensity that felt as high as 56 degrees Celsius, according to the Department of Meteorology.

The peak temperature was recorded between 2 and 3 pm, highlighting the severe heatwave gripping the city. Currently, Karachi's temperature stands at 36.5 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 66% as of 5 o'clock.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted that Karachi will continue to endure hot and humid weather tomorrow, with temperatures expected to range from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. Relief is anticipated in the form of sea breezes resuming from tomorrow evening onwards.

In response to the extreme heat, approximately 200 mourners required medical assistance at a camp set up at Jinnah Hospital due to deteriorating health conditions exacerbated by the intense temperatures.

Karachiites are urged to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and cool amidst the ongoing heatwave, with authorities advising vigilance during these challenging weather conditions.
