Khawaja Asif: Modi Now an International Joke, Pakistan Shattered His Image

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif launched a scathing verbal attack on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him an “international joke” and claiming that Pakistan had “shattered his reputation globally.”

Speaking to Geo News, Asif said that Modi is desperately trying to revive his image through hollow statements following the failed military narrative about the Indo-Pak conflict. “Modi’s ship has sunk,” said Asif. “He is now a disgrace on the global stage—people no longer take him seriously.”

The Defence Minister stated that Pakistan’s armed forces and the nation collectively exposed Modi’s posturing, turning him into a political liability at home and abroad. “Even the Indian Parliament, their media, and the Indian army admit the failure,” Asif remarked. “It’s time Modi admitted it too—his political sun has set.”

Responding to Modi’s recent war-related remarks, Asif said, “He doesn't hug those he should, and avoids handshakes where they matter. That’s how isolated and ridiculed Modi has become.”

On PTI Founder’s Sons

Addressing reports about the sons of PTI’s founder Imran Khan, Asif clarified that the government has no intention of stopping their return to Pakistan. “If they meet all visa, permission, and legal requirements, they can come,” he said, adding that he had read media reports suggesting Imran Khan himself had barred them from returning.

Asif said that if the sons are making their own decisions, they are welcome to visit, but warned PTI not to repeat violent protests like those on May 9 or November 26, which he said would not be tolerated again.

“We respect the democratic right to protest,” he said, “but inciting violence under the guise of protest will be dealt with strictly.”

On Gaza and Palestine

Turning to Palestine, Khawaja Asif condemned global inaction over Israeli atrocities in Gaza, accusing powerful nations of enabling “famine and genocide.” He praised recent moves by Britain and France to recognize the Palestinian state, calling it a step towards historical justice.

He said Britain carries a moral debt to the Palestinian people for its role in establishing the Israeli state through the Balfour Declaration. “Now is the time for Britain to stand with Palestinians and atone for its historical crimes,” Asif said.

He emphasized that starving children and civilians in Gaza is a stain on global conscience. “This is a shame for humanity—more people are now dying from hunger and poverty than from war,” he added.
