POLITICS & POLICY MAKING
Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has described Zionism as a “threat to humanity,” alleging that recent regional conflicts are part of a broader agenda to expand Israeli influence toward Pakistan’s borders.
Speaking on the evolving Middle East crisis, Asif said that war had been imposed on Iran and claimed that the underlying objective was to bring Israeli influence closer to Pakistan.
He asserted that since the establishment of Israel, the Zionist ideology has been behind many of the disasters faced by the Islamic world. According to the defence minister, Zionism has influenced the global economic system for decades and continues to exert sway over major world powers.
Asif maintained that Pakistan remains fully capable of defending itself, highlighting the country’s nuclear status. “Pakistan is a nuclear power, and the world recognizes the capability of our armed forces,” he said, referring to Pakistan’s nuclear tests as proof of its strategic strength.
He further alleged that a common agenda involving Afghanistan, Israel, and India may be rooted in hostility toward Pakistan, urging the nation to remain vigilant against what he described as a conspiracy.
Calling for unity across the Muslim world, the defence minister stressed that solidarity among Islamic nations is the need of the hour amid rising regional tensions.
He concluded his remarks by expressing hope for the freedom of Palestine and the continued safety and stability of Pakistan.
