Kurram Roads Set to Reopen After Bunker Demolition, Weapons Surrender

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor Barrister Saif has stated that the roads in Kurram district will be fully reopened once the bunkers are demolished and the weapons are surrendered. This decision, in line with the Apex Committee’s directive, is part of a larger effort to restore peace and normalcy to the region.

In his statement, Barrister Saif acknowledged the difficulties faced by the people of Kurram due to the closure of roads, which has affected daily life and movement. He emphasized that the government's primary focus is to ensure lasting peace in the district, which will be achieved through the clearance of weapons and the demolition of bunkers. These measures, he said, will pave the way for the complete reopening of roads, benefiting local residents and restoring normalcy.

“The demolition of bunkers and the surrender of weapons are crucial steps toward establishing long-term peace in Kurram,” Barrister Saif remarked. He further explained that the provincial government is dedicated to creating a peaceful environment for the people of Kurram, as well as for the wider region. He reassured the public that once these processes are completed, the roads will be fully open, facilitating easier movement and a return to normal life.

Barrister Saif also addressed concerns raised by some elements who are spreading baseless propaganda on social media regarding the situation in Kurram. He stated that these elements are misrepresenting the sincere efforts of the provincial government to bring peace and stability to the district. According to Saif, such actions only serve to hinder the peace process and destabilize the region.

The government remains committed to clearing Kurram of weapons and dismantling bunkers to ensure peace and safety for its residents. Barrister Saif reiterated that the efforts to reopen the roads are part of a broader peace agreement that will benefit the entire region in the long run.
