Lahore: Newlywed Couple Shot Dead in Suspected Arranged Marriage Dispute

A newlywed couple was shot dead by unknown assailants in the Kahna area of Lahore on Ahlu Road, sending shockwaves through the local community.

According to the police, the victims—identified as Safina and Pir Muhammad, both residents of Lahore—had recently moved into a rented house after their arranged marriage. On the night of the incident, unidentified gunmen forcibly entered their residence, opened fire, and fled the scene, leaving both dead.

Authorities say the couple had been living at the location for only a few days. Initial investigations suggest that the motive may be linked to a dispute over their arranged marriage, although further evidence is being gathered.

The landlord is currently being questioned, and law enforcement has launched a search operation to trace the attackers. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scene, and statements from neighbors are being recorded.
