Pakistan and Afghanistan Pledge Cooperation to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Pakistan and Afghanistan have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering fraternal bilateral relations, with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan’s Interim Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi agreeing to prioritize cooperation in connectivity, trade, security, counter-terrorism, and people-to-people contacts."

"In a statement, FM Muttaqi expressed hope that Dar's assumption of office would play a positive role in strengthening relations between the two neighbouring countries, emphasizing the need for collaboration on major infrastructure projects."

"The discussions also highlighted the importance of addressing challenges at the Durand Line and enhancing facilities for passengers, patients, and commercial traffic."

"Meanwhile, Pakistan's Chargé d’Affaires, Ubaid ur Rehman Nizamani, engaged with Kandahar Governor Mullah Muhammad Shirin Akhund, underscoring the importance of advancing Pakistan-Afghanistan relations in various sectors."

"Recent diplomatic efforts also saw Pakistan's Ambassador to the UN, Munir Akram, urging the Taliban rulers in Afghanistan to sever ties with banned militant groups while advocating for humanitarian assistance to address the plight of millions of Afghans.
