Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, held a productive meeting with Italian Ambassador to Pakistan to discuss the strengthening of judicial cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Justice Yahya Afridi announced the establishment of the ‘Commercial Litigation Corridor’, a new initiative aimed at addressing commercial disputes in a more timely and efficient manner. The Chief Justice emphasized that the prompt resolution of such disputes will significantly contribute to boosting Pakistan’s economy, especially by fostering a more business-friendly environment.
In the course of the meeting, the two sides also discussed the uniformity of the judicial systems in both Italy and Pakistan, recognizing the value of sharing knowledge and experiences. They explored the potential for judicial exchanges and the importance of training programs to enhance the proficiency of judges and legal professionals in both countries.
Justice Afridi reiterated the importance of transparency and public participation as essential components of the ongoing judicial reforms in Pakistan. He highlighted the pivotal role of the judiciary in interpreting the constitution and ensuring justice for all citizens.
The Italian Ambassador acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani community in Italy and expressed his country's willingness to cooperate in Pakistan’s judicial reforms. He assured continued support and collaboration between Italy and Pakistan in furthering the goals of justice and legal progress.
