Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed his economic team to formulate a comprehensive strategy to boost Pakistan’s exports to $60 billion over the next five years. He emphasized the need for sustainable reforms in the tariff system to enhance trade competitiveness.

Chairing a high-level meeting on export growth, the Prime Minister stressed that export-led economic development is a core part of his Udan Pakistan vision.

📌 Reduce & simplify tariff rates for businesses.
📌 Boost industrial productivity through targeted policies.
📌 Focus on IT, services, and agriculture to expand exports.
📌 Introduce reforms in the Export Development Fund for industry growth.

🔹 Officials briefed the PM that tariffs have been gradually reduced over the past two years.
🔹 The Ministry of Commerce is organizing international trade exhibitions to attract foreign buyers.
