Pakistan Imposes Passport Restrictions on Asylum Seekers

The Passport and Immigration Directorate has issued a directive imposing restrictions on the issuance of passports to individuals seeking asylum in foreign countries.

According to the directive, individuals who have applied for asylum or have already obtained asylum in foreign countries will not be issued passports.

Furthermore, the directive extends to Pakistani citizens currently residing abroad who have sought asylum or have been granted asylum previously.

This measure has been implemented in the interest of national security and in alignment with international commitments, as stated by the authorities.

The directive aims to regulate the issuance of passports to individuals who may pose security risks or violate international agreements.
