Pakistan International Airlines Suspends Gulf Flights Amid Middle East Airspace Uncertainty

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Saturday announced the suspension of its flights to several Gulf countries in response to the evolving security situation in the Middle East and uncertainties surrounding regional airspace.

According to a statement issued by the airline’s spokesperson, flight operations to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Doha and Kuwait have been temporarily suspended.

“These flights will not operate until tomorrow evening or until the restoration of airspace, whichever comes later,” the spokesperson said, adding that the situation is being closely monitored.

Flights to Saudi Arabia will continue; however, their routes have been altered as a precautionary measure. The airline has shifted these operations to Boeing 777 aircraft, which will operate on longer alternative routes to ensure passenger safety.

The national flag carrier has advised passengers to stay in contact for updates regarding flight schedules and booking changes. Travelers can reach the PIA call centre at 111-786-786 for further information and assistance.

The move comes amid heightened regional tensions that have disrupted normal air travel across parts of the Middle East, prompting airlines to reassess routes and operations for safety reasons.
