Pakistan and Nigeria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to combat corruption and financial crimes across borders.
The MoU was signed in Doha, Qatar, by Lt. Gen. (retd) Nazir Ahmed, Chairman of Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and Mr. Aulani Pekone Olukwode, Executive Chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Chairman NAB emphasized that ensuring accountability and transparency at the global level is a top priority, stating that the agreement aims to enhance investigative and prosecutorial capabilities, ensuring that justice is no longer limited by national borders.
Officials described the agreement as a landmark development in international collaboration, highlighting the shared commitment of Pakistan and Nigeria to eliminate cross-border financial crimes and corruption.
The MoU is expected to strengthen information sharing, joint investigations, and capacity building between the two nations’ anti-corruption agencies, paving the way for more effective accountability and justice delivery on a global scale.
