The budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 will be presented in Pakistan's Parliament during the first week of June, according to the Ministry of Finance. This marks a significant step in the country's annual budget planning process.
As per the newly issued Budget Call Circular for 2025-26, approval from the federal cabinet will be sought for the budget targets and related documents before the formal presentation. This approval process is set to take place in the third week of April.
In the lead-up to the budget presentation, several key meetings are scheduled. The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that the Annual Plan Coordination Committee will convene in the first week of May, followed by the National Economic Council meeting in the second week of May. These discussions will provide a comprehensive review of the country’s economic priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
Budget estimates and relevant documents will be prepared by May, with revisions for the current and development budgets expected to be presented in February. Additionally, a meeting of the Budget Review Committee will take place in February, and the mid-year review report will be presented in the National Assembly next month.
The detailed budgeting process reflects the government's commitment to ensuring a well-structured fiscal plan for the year ahead, with all key stakeholders involved in shaping the financial landscape for Pakistan in FY 2025-26.
