A patient admitted to Nishtar Medical College Hospital in Multan died during treatment, with the family alleging negligence on the part of the attending doctors.
According to details, the patient, who was suffering from a stomach-related illness, was brought to Nishtar Hospital for medical treatment but died while under care. The patient’s family has accused hospital doctors of failing to provide timely medical assistance.
The patient’s son claimed that doctors had instructed the family to arrange blood but did not administer it to his mother in time, which he said led to her death. The family demanded accountability and strict action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, the hospital administration took notice of the incident and suspended a house officer after a video surfaced showing the doctor making inappropriate gestures. The administration said the suspension was part of an initial disciplinary action.
Hospital officials assured the affected family that a full inquiry had been initiated. They stated that if doctors are found guilty of negligence, strict action will be taken in accordance with the law and hospital regulations.
The incident has once again raised concerns over patient care and medical negligence in public-sector hospitals.
