Pir Pagara Criticizes Government for Disrespecting People's Choice and Water Crisis

Pir Pagara, the chief of Pakistan Muslim League (F), on Friday sharply criticized the current government, accusing it of disregarding the people’s right to choose their representatives and failing to address fundamental issues like employment and water scarcity.

In a scathing attack on the incumbent government, Pir Pagara said the decisions made by the people during elections were not being honored, leading to dissatisfaction among the masses. “The current rulers are not even able to provide dignity to the people, let alone job opportunities,” he remarked.

The PML(F) leader also expressed concern over the lack of coherence in the government’s policies, citing the contradictory statements made by ministers sitting in the cabinet. He stressed that this reflected poorly on the leadership and governance in Pakistan.

One of the major issues Pir Pagara highlighted was the worsening water crisis, particularly in Balochistan. He voiced deep concern over the alarming situation, where many areas of the province were facing severe water shortages. "Even during the 2022 floods in Sindh, people were fighting for water. Imagine the condition of water resources in a normal season," he lamented.

Pir Pagara pointed out the deep-rooted problems in the country’s governance, adding that the situation in Balochistan was especially dire, with many communities still struggling to access clean water. The ongoing water scarcity, he said, was a testament to the government’s inability to resolve key issues affecting the people.

Turning his attention to the recent elections of February 8, Pir Pagara remarked that it was evident to the international community how the polls were conducted under dubious circumstances. The perception of the elections raised serious questions about the legitimacy and fairness of the electoral process in Pakistan.

“If corrective measures are not taken now, the direction of the country would be even worse,” Pir Pagara warned. His statement called for urgent action to restore public trust in the democratic process and to ensure that the basic needs of the population were met.

Pir Pagara’s remarks reflect growing discontent with the political leadership in Pakistan, particularly regarding governance issues that directly impact citizens’ lives. The PML(F) leader’s critique underscores the importance of addressing systemic challenges like water scarcity and the need for transparent and fair elections.
