PM Shehbaz: Inflation Drops to Single Digits, More Relief Expected

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Pakistan's inflation rate has officially dropped to single digits, with further reductions expected in the coming days.

In an exclusive conversation with Geo News, the premier highlighted recent economic improvements, attributing the progress to his government’s dedicated efforts to stabilize the economy.

"The inflation rate has come down to single digits, and the banking sector's mark-up rates have also improved. We expect more positive news in the days ahead," said the Prime Minister.

Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the persistent challenges but emphasized the government's commitment to curbing inflation and providing relief to citizens.

The PM also criticized the previous government, stating:

"Political disputes and the culture of hatred during the PTI era severely harmed the country. We have been working day and night to reverse that damage."

He reiterated that efforts to end the recommendation culture and streamline governance were part of a broader strategy for economic recovery.

Public Response:

🔹 "Good to hear inflation is down, but when will we feel it at the market?" – Sana Malik, Lahore
🔹 "Single-digit inflation sounds great; let's hope it reflects in our daily expenses soon." – Ahmed Ali, Karachi

Economic analysts remain cautiously optimistic, noting that sustained stability depends on long-term policy continuity.
