The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the closure of admissions for the 2025–2026 academic session, emphasizing strict compliance with the April 15 deadline. According to the council, any student admitted after this date will not be issued a registration number, effectively rendering such admissions invalid.
The directive applies to all recognized medical and dental colleges as well as admitting universities across the country. PMDC has warned that granting admissions beyond the deadline would be a violation of the PMDC Act 2022 and relevant education regulations.
The council highlighted that the decision aims to ensure transparency, merit, and standardization in medical education. It also urged all institutions and stakeholders to strictly follow the regulations to maintain quality in the healthcare education system.
Earlier, PMDC had allowed a one-time relaxation in MDCAT passing criteria to fill vacant seats, which had sparked criticism from medical professionals. However, the latest notification makes it clear that no further admissions beyond the deadline will be accepted or recognized.
