President Asif Ali Zardari Calls Separate Sessions for National Assembly and Senate

President Asif Ali Zardari convened separate meetings of the National Assembly and the Senate yesterday, aimed at addressing key legislative matters. The Senate session is scheduled for 3:00 PM, followed by the National Assembly meeting at 4:00 PM.

 

The meetings were called under Article 54 (a) of the Constitution, which empowers the President to summon sessions of the legislature. This development comes at a crucial time, as the government seeks to address pressing issues within the parliament.

 

Additionally, a meeting of the Muslim League-N parliamentary party in the Senate has also been scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30 PM. All senators from the Muslim League-N have been instructed to ensure their presence in Islamabad by this evening to participate in these important discussions.

 

The sessions are expected to focus on various legislative agendas, including critical policies and national issues that require immediate attention from both houses of parliament.
