POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalized its nationwide protest strategy for August 5, with the main demonstration planned outside Adiala Jail, sources confirmed on Sunday.
According to party insiders, all PTI members of the National Assembly and Senate have been instructed to reach Islamabad and participate in the protest outside the prison where several top PTI leaders, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, are currently detained.
Meanwhile, provincial assembly members (MPAs) will organize demonstrations within their respective constituencies across the country. The protest will be organized under the banner of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja will supervise the protest, ensuring coordination between the central leadership and party workers. Sources added that consultations with all provincial presidents and chief organizers have been completed to finalize the schedule.
The presidents and coordinators from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have submitted detailed protest plans, and all ticket holders have been placed on high alert to ensure full participation and mobilization.
Party sources say the protest aims to raise public awareness about constitutional violations and ongoing political suppression. PTI has also framed this as a peaceful constitutional movement demanding the release of political prisoners and the restoration of democratic norms.
