POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Rawalpindi: A group of PTI and allied political leaders were once again denied permission to meet the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
Prominent figures including Azam Khan Swati, Sunni Ittehad Council chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and lawyer Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry arrived at Adiala Jail in the afternoon.
Despite registering their names at Gate No. 5, the jail administration refused to allow the meeting, forcing the political leaders to leave without meeting the party founder.
Second Consecutive Denial
Notably, last Thursday, similar restrictions prevented PTI leaders from meeting their party head. As a result, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub and former Speaker Asad Qaiser chose to skip today's visit altogether.
Ongoing Restrictions Raise Concerns
This repeated denial of access has sparked concerns over the treatment of PTI’s leadership and the right of political leaders to meet imprisoned party heads. The government and jail authorities have yet to provide a formal explanation for these restrictions.
