POLITICS & POLICY MAKING

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has issued a blunt statement declaring that Sher Afzal Marwat is not a member of PTI, despite recent internal discussions on his possible return.
According to party sources, a consultation was held during a PTI parliamentary meeting to deliberate on Marwat’s reentry. Several members, including Asad Qaiser and Shehryar Afridi, voiced support for hearing Marwat’s stance. Nisar Jatt also backed the proposal for his return.
Sher Afzal Marwat, speaking to the media, said that when critical statements come from within the party, he feels compelled to respond. However, the parliamentary party has formally requested him to remain silent during the ongoing internal review.
Sources revealed that the parliamentary party will present its final position on Sher Afzal Marwat to the PTI’s founding leadership for a decision.
Meanwhile, Salman Akram Raja’s categorical statement appears to close the door — at least for now — on Marwat’s formal rejoining of the party, signaling continuing internal rifts within PTI ranks.
