The operations were carried out in coordination with sensitive security agencies, leading to the recovery of photos, videos, weapons, explosives, and other material from the suspects. The CTD said the timely action prevented “large-scale terrorism activities” planned in major cities of Punjab.

The recovered material reportedly included images and video recordings of sensitive sites, including a religious seminary. Authorities claim the group intended to stoke fear and religious hatred by targeting places of worship and other important locations across the province.

In Lahore, security personnel arrested suspects identified as Sukhdeep Singh, Azmat, Faizan, Nabil, Abrar, Usman, and Sarfaraz. Another suspect, Danish, was apprehended in Faisalabad, while four individuals — Rajab, Hashim, Saqib, and Arif — were arrested during an operation in Bahawalpur.

The CTD spokesperson added that the arrests followed an investigation into a Facebook account allegedly operated from India to coordinate terrorist activities. The suspects were reportedly receiving funding from RAW.

Officials seized seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two detonators, 102 feet of safety fuse wire, explosives, weapons, mobile phones, and cash from their possession. Cases have been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.

The CTD, which regularly conducts operations nationwide to prevent terrorism, noted that this is the latest in a series of cases involving alleged Indian interference. In August, Sindh CTD reported RAW’s involvement in a target killing in Badin and arrested six suspects. Earlier in June, four suspected Indian agents were detained in Karachi’s Quaidabad area.

Authorities say more arrests are expected as the investigation expands.
